2016 NNN Arts Cafe is October 16, 2016 – 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.!

The Arts Café is our most celebrated annual event. With over 1,200 people attending throughout the day, the Arts Café is an opportunity for the NNN, Inc. to open its newly renovated homes to the public and celebrate all that is great about living in the Near Northwest Neighborhood. Local artists fill the homes and street with their creations. Live musicians perform all day long while neighbors and visitors greet each other, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the Autumnal weather. Find our more information here, and apply to participate as an artist, musician or food vendor here!

Neighbors Together! Join our neighborhood initiatives!

Neighbors Together is a community building initiative dedicated to creating a better and more vibrant NNN and South Bend for everyone. Funds raised for the campaign will support The Local Cup, a youth leadership development program, an incubator commercial kitchen, and a community organizer.

The Local Cup is a pay-it-forward neighborhood coffee shop that has become a weekend neighborhood and community gathering spot. The Local Cup was the brainchild of NNN neighbors Brook Hardy, John Horton, and Catherine and Mike Griffin. Together with the support of other neighbors the couples repurposed an office of the NNN Inc. into one of South Bend’s most inviting coffee shops and gathering places.

Local teens are offered paid internships to operate The Local Cup during the weekends. They participate in weekly leadership development activities and field trips. The NNN also plans to create an incubator commercial kitchen that will allow neighbors to try out new recipes and explore their potential for commercialization. Finally, the organization is looking to create a Community Organizing staff position to identify neighborhood assets and strengthen existing networks of relationships within the neighborhood and across the community.
