Five Year Housing Strategy Action Plan

Next Step... Implementation!

Over the course of several months last year, residents participated in three Community Education & Engagement Forums as part of a process to create the NNN’s Five Year Housing Strategy.

As a result of these community forums, residents identified three neighborhood housing priorities:

  • Reinvestment and rehabilitation of existing homes,
  • Property tax, and
  • Vacant and abandoned properties.

These priority areas were used in the development of the NNN, Inc. Five Year Housing Strategy Action Plan, which will guide the NNN, Inc.’s housing efforts over the next five years.

The Housing Strategy Action Plan lists strategies and action steps to be taken in order to address each of the neighborhood housing priority areas. As part of the implementation of the Housing Strategy Action Plan, these strategies and action steps will be referred to the responsible committee (including the marketing committee, organizing committee, nuisance property task force) for further development and implementation.

In order for the Housing Strategy Action Plan to be successfully implemented residents, committees, and the NNN, Inc. need to work together! If you are interested in helping to address one, or more, of the neighborhood housing priority areas please consider joining the committee that will be responsible for implementing solutions. In particular, neighbors are needed for a new committee that will work to specifically address vacant and abandoned properties. For more information on committees and their roles please contact the NNN at 232-9182.

If you are interested in joining a committee please get a Volunteer Interest Form from the NNN office, 1007 Portage Ave., or by clicking here. Complete the form and return it to the NNN.
