Community Center Use
As we wait for Covid 19 resolution, should you want to use an outdoor space for an event for non-profit and non-commercial groups engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual, or charitable activities, there is an alternative. The NNN can share the mid-block grassy space in the middle of the 1000 block of of California. We are also happy to share parking lot space for small group meetings, when the lots are not otherwise in use. We would, of course, ask you to follow social distancing and mask use directives and to clean up after any function.
The Outdoor spaces are not available for partisan political meetings, religious services, or private social functions.
The Near Northwest Neighborhood, Inc. (NNN) shares its Community Center when available. Located at 1013 Portage Ave, the space is 2,600 s.f.; holds 75-100 people seated; and has partial kitchen facilities with a sink but no oven or range).
The Community Center is open to non-profit and non-commercial groups engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual, or charitable activities. The Community Center is not available for partisan political meetings, religious services, or private social functions. We prefer events to be be free and open to the general public.
